Thanks god, Mr. Luciano Rodrigez put new life into quarterscale modeling with his idea to call a “Tamiya-Groupbild” on missing lynx. Of course – a good reason to join in. I decided to put my fingers on this little nice kit: a tank hunter based on the Czech Panzer 38 Series combined with the famous Russian “Ratsch-Bumm” 7,62cm Pak.
This model was built OOTB. I only added some nuts and replaced the barrel with an RB Models barrel.
Refer the painting I had a worn desert camouflage in my mind. Besides I decided to work completely without all of the trendy stuff like ready mixed filters, mud products, washes and weathering sets. Only Tamiya acrylics, Humbrols, Thinner, Oils, Vallejo Acrylics and some pigments should be used, as it were OLDSCHOOL techniques.
The worn dark yellow effect was achieved by airbrushing yellow Humbrol paint. Then I let this coat for 10 minutes dry and removed some colour with a thinner moisted flat brush. A very simple method and you need nothing else than Thinner, Tamiya Acrylics and Humbrol Enamels.
After all this was the result and I am quite happy with it. Finally I built a simple base for the MARDER. Hope you like this project.
some detail shots
and now with a simple base
and finally...its really a 1:48 scale model..only a handful ;-)
